Dorian:
Peace. Peace held over the circus. Or at least the type of peace for one such as this. But peace none the less. After months of anguish, loss, pain, and blood against the mafia group, summer, with it's gentle warmth, engulfs the land in it's golden glow. Summer, and all had returned to normal.

Dorian sighed to himself, sweeping a hand through his darken hair until his fingers lay upon the nape of his now bare neck. During the regular seasons, he would keep it at his usual length. During the cold seasons, his fur would thicken, thus he grew his mane out to protect himself from the chill in the air. He rather disliked the work to maintain it and was relieved when he cut it. But now with the warmer months approaching he had little choice but to cut his mane short. The lands here were far warmer and humid than the one's back home. So along with his mane, he had to change his attire as well.

His trousers were a light tan now with a light dress shirt and a light grey waistcoat. His collar and ascot were also replace with a simple turn-down collar and light blue tie. Even his high polish back dress shoes were replaced with brown oxfords. Dorian resented his attire, despite how much cooler he felt. And he resented having been born with long fur. The short-hair breeds were so fortunate...

Gale:
Meanwhile in the Big Top, Gale finished filling up her water bowl, wiping the sweat from her brow. After all the havoc caused by the Familia, everyone in the circus were once again back to their everyday routines. And the Sylveon couldn't be more grateful for it.

She had missed practicing her act and being in her water bowl as she pleased. The water dancer missed the feel of the water rolling off her fur and skin. Gale just missed being in the water. Now that peace had once again returned to the Circus and the summer months had made themselves present, this was the perfect opportunity.

So now, dressed in her performance costume as it allowed better movement and was more practical in the warm weather, Gale draped herself on the edge of the bowl and began to move.

Dorian:
Dorian squinted, closing his eyes. He'd forgotten how bright the sun shined in these lands during the summer. It was rather unfortunate he had sensitive eyes for a luxray, but was glad it was not anything dire. The intense sun was making his vision trigger and even his prescribed pince-nez could not shield them. It was one of the reasons he wore them was so his eyes would not constantly see through things if he did not concentrate.

Ducking inside the big top, to hide indoors from the constant sun, the luxray sighed, rubbing his eyes to get them to focus normally. He'd have to purchase some specialty shaded lenses if he wished to be outside during the day. His ear gave a flick to the sound of splashing waves as if someone was swimming, which was odd. Why would there be splashing of water in the big top? Ever the curious cat, Dorian decided to investigate.

Gale:
Gale came up from the water for a breath. This feeling... being in the water then rising for air... It was exhilarating to her. At this point, it was fair to say that the water dancer was completely lost.

She pulled herself up onto the bowl's right platform, performing a handstand before effortlessly placing her feet onto the platform and righting herself. The dancer proceeded to do a series of pirouettes and leaned back, one leg raised high as she fell back into the water with a splash.

Gale was absolutely lost in this moment. The act of being in water always left her enraptured and with a euphoric feeling. If she was being watch, the Sylveon was enjoying herself too much to notice.

Dorian:
Peeking around the stands, and toward the center of the tent, Dorian's eyes fell upon a rather large... water bowl? This left the man rather perplexed, pondering why there was such a large bowl filled with water in the middle of the big top tent. But the answer was quite obvious by now. A very certain, and very lovely, Sylveon sank into the cool water with the look any water type would have. She had yet to notice his presence, thus he decided to pass the time by watching her practice.

Climbing the stands, he took a seat toward the front row, leaning back in his seat and crossing a leg over his knee. It was cooler in the tent, rather than stuffy, but that might be due to the lack of crowds with their disgusting body heat. Uck, it made Dorian shudder. He just could not comprehend why the performers put themselves through such mundane activities to please the brain deficient masses. But on the other hand, watching the dear girl, swim and splash, like a beautiful water nymph of mythology, was very appealing to the eye. So the luxray sat in silence, enjoying the show.

Gale:
Gale continued for a few more minutes, absolutely enraptured. Her face clearly portraying an expression of pure bliss. The water dancer twirled, danced, balanced, and swam all while completely oblivious to the man watching her.

After one final leap from one platform to the other, the Sylveon fell back into the water again. Deciding to take a break and just enjoy the water, Gale rose back up to the surface. She then proceeded to lean over the bowl's edge and breathed a contented sigh through smiling lips.

Dorian
A soft applause echoed from the stands where a single luxray sat, smiling brightly, eyes gleaming in delight. "Bravo, bravo, my dear." he said in a soft, velvety voice. "That was simply stupendous. I've not seen an act like that. One that is so graceful and beautiful. Breath taking. Again, bravo."

Rising from his seat, Dorian walked down the steps and off the stands, making his way over. "I fear I have never been to a circus before, so I find many of the acts interesting to see. Though while most are what you expect to see at a circus, I have never seen an act like this one." He circles around the bowl, studying it closely and seeing his own faint reflection. Touching the glass, he glides his fingers over the smooth surface. "I must say, my dear, that even though this may be an act, you appear to enjoy it immensely. I could mistake you for a water type."

Gale:
Gale couldn't help but jump slightly when she heard the applause. Once she saw who it was, the Sylveon was torn between relief that it was just Dorian and nervousness for the same reason. This was why, as he stepped closer to the water dancer and her bowl, she moved away from the bowl's edge to put some distance between them. The bowl and its contents were her safe zone so it made her a little tense that the man who both inspired her and put the fear of Arcrus into her was coming so close to it.

"Thank you very much, Dorian. I wasn't aware that you were watching me practice." Gale thanked the Luxray with a nervous smile as she watched him. "And, I can see why you'd think so. Even when I was just a baby I always enjoyed being in the water. So, when a friend introduced me to the water bowl when I was younger, I couldn't resist the opportunity to learn how to properly perform it."

Dorian:
Dorian had long finished his study of the bowl's exterior and now took a moment to study the interior. Precisely the little individual floating in the center, and how she shied away to seek protection in the center. He watched her a moment longer, then smiled. That oh so sly, wicked one that just left one feeling chilled. Dorian peered into the bowl at Gale, the palms of his hand flat against the glass. With a soft chuckle, he hum a cheery tune and began to walk about the bowl, trailing his claws against the glass, but not enough to scratch it. "I see, well perhaps you were a water type in a previous life. Or maybe you were once a water nymph, sought by the mighty Zeus for you beauty and charm. Or, maybe you were once a pet fish that loved nothing more than to swim and sway in your tiny little world protected in glass. Never having to worry about the toils and woes of the world. Just blissful joy in your little bowl. Such eternal bliss."

The man continued his slow circling around the bowl, his claws emitting a soft noise while gliding across the glass. His smile never faltered, and those eyes shined with such mischief it was almost hypnotic. On one had one would be worried by such a look. A look that obviously spoke of ill intent. But at the same time, like a burning need to know, curiosity draws you closer. To know how ill that intent was.

"You have a most fortunate job, miss Gale." the luxray spoke up at once. "During this time of year, most would be envious of your act. But I wonder if that is so during... cooler weather."

Gale:
Gale had to suppress a shiver as the man smiled and spoke. The Sylveon watched as he circled the bowl and listened to his words. He looked so predatory... so dark and mischievous that it didn't seem real. It repelled the water dancer yet drew her in all the same.

Because as much as she feared him, Gale was fascinated by Dorian. He had so many facets to his character. He was sane at times. He was mad at times. He was a merciless fighter consumed by bloodlust one moment. He was gentlemanly and clever the next.

In the end, the girl couldn't help but move away a little from the safety of the bowl's center towards the Luxray.

"The colder months do present a bit of a problem." Gale admitted as she continued to carefully observe him. "But, even then I still enjoy it. I do my best to take care when I practice and make sure to take care of myself afterwards."

Dorian:
Dorian gave a nod to this. "That is very reassuring to know, miss Gale. A lovely little water nymph, such as yourself, should take good care of herself. Especially with how hypnotically beautiful you are." He heaved a long sigh, tapping the glass with his finger. "It must be very fortunate to be short furred. How much easier it is to groom and maintain." Pulling a face, he brushed the back of his neck, feeling very vulnerable and exposed. "Alas, since I am rather thick in coat, I have had to resort to extreme grooming during this weather and had little choice than to trim my mane and tufts back. I feel so very ridiculous. Just these clothing alone feel so very light as if I'm not wearing anything at all."

Giving a pout, he turned around to show the girl his short trimmed mane. Surprisingly he looked years younger with short hair.

Gale:
Gale managed to suppress the blush that threatened to rise to her cheeks as Dorian complimented her. Once he mentioned his need to cut his fur and turned to show her his trimmed mane, she floated a little closer for a better look.

"I can only imagine how hard it must be to maintain. Cutting it and letting it grow out so often. My hair has always been easy to manage. You have my sympathies." The Sylveon said once she finished her observations. "But, even with short hair, I personally think you look quite handsome all the same.

Dorian:
Dorian placed a hand upon his chest and gave a slight bow of his head. "It pleases me to hear such praise for an old luxray, such as I. I thank you most kindly, my good miss. How kind of you to say so." It did please him that some still view him as attractive, with his average looks, which was very far from the truth. He was dashingly handsome and would probably become only more distinguished as he aged. But in his mind he was only average in looks, which was why he preferred to use his charms and personality. And how he has perfected it. A very deadly skill that has lured countless others to him before they realized the creature he was. Or easily led the suspicious astray from him. He had many talents and knew how to use them. Like now...

He silently took notice when the sylveon, bit by bit, drew ever more closer to him. Slowly relaxing and letting her guard slip. It made the man smile knowingly. He made no comment on this or dared move closer, knowing the slightest thing could scare her off.

"Hmm, but I still prefer my usual attire and mane. The weather here is very different from what I am use to. Actually, since the whole horrid event has passed, I am rather delighted to hear we will be moving near the sea shore. If we are fortunate enough, the sea breeze would do wonders to cool us off." At this Dorian made a rather troubled face. "But at the same time I am rather adverse to the idea of the sea. I tend to have... problems..."

Gale:
Gale nodded in understanding.

"I understand." The Sylveon said as she gently ran her right hand through the water's surface. "Not everyone is fond of large bodies of water. It has its dangers and I don't begrudge them for being cautious." The fairy finally took her eyes off the lion. Her eyes softened as she watched the small waves and ripples in the water as her hand produced them.

"I, however, would love to be near the sea again." She admitted, still entranced by the water in front of her. "Truth be told, being in Undella brings back pleasant memories for me. My family and I would vacation here during the summer when we were able. We always had a wonderful time together." The water dancer let out a laugh, her eyes and smile taking on a wistful appearance. "Of course, I rarely if ever wanted to get out of the water. My poor mother practically had to drag me out if I didn't leave it myself."

Dorian:
"Ahh, shame on you, miss Gale." Dorian admonished, "Hiding such a dazzling smile, like flecks of gold upon the water's surface. A radiant smile that could wage war upon the lands just to see it graced toward them. A lovely and enchanting smile of such tender feelings, that neither love from the past or delighted dream could ever draw forth. Dipped in the sweetness of fond childhood memories." Pausing, he offered a bow in apology. "Oh my, do forgive the ramblings of this poor foolish man. But I tend to become lost in my musings."

Dorian rolled his head back, letting out a soft laugh. "Hmm, indeed large bodies of water can be quite dangerous. Heavens, any place could hold potential dangers. But I digress. For you see, that is not the problem I was speaking of." Plucking off his pince-nez, he gave them a good cleaning with his handkerchief. "If I am truly honest wth myself, it can be a tad embarrassing to admit. But the issue I have is with the sea air. I constantly have the incurable craving for sea food. I am a feline in the end."

Gale:
Gale covered her mouth, doing her best to hold back a laugh at the older man's admission. Despite her great level of politeness, the Sylveon failed. A small chuckle escaped her lips and it was accompanied by a smile.

"I'm so sorry. I don't mean to laugh." The fairy apologized as she uncovered her still smiling lips. "I can see how that would be a bit of problem."

Dorian:
Dorian held his cheek in mock outrage at the girl's laughter. "Goodness me! How dare you laugh at a person's most deepest and troubled secrets." he falsely wailed in despair. "I am shocked, by this, shocked I say! Who would have thought that you had such a delightful laugh, all this time?"

Immediately dropping the act, Dorian ducked his head low to peek at Gale through the clear waters of the bowl. "Being born a feline, one tends to have more acute senses toward hunting and prey. Of course this is not the same for all feline, but quite a few do lean toward their inner feral." Lifting his head he took a long smell of the air. "Even now I can smell the sea breeze and can not help but yearn for some steamed soft-shelled krabby with a side of lemon wedges. Followed with a nice cool glass of mint lemon water. Hmm, would you happen to know if krabby are indigenous to this area?"

Gale:
Gale shook her head and gave him a sympathetic smile.

"I'm afraid not, Dorian." The fairy admitted honestly. "Any Krabby that is here would have come from the fishing areas around Driftveil City, Virbank City, and Routes 4 and 13. They aren't found anywhere near Undella. Sorry to disappoint you."

Dorian:
He sighed dramatically. "I would figure as much. How very disappointing." Pouting, he tapped the glass of the bowl to a nameless tune. "Well, I am unaccustomed to these lands, so what sea life do you recommend for consumption here?"

Gale:
"Shellder and Remoraid are two of the most common and two of the few edible sea creatures in Undella. There are quite a few dishes here that have either one as the main ingredient." Gale suggested as the ribbon mon came closer to properly speak with him. "Basculin, Cloyster, and Octillery are available as well but they're much rarer so they're considered to be a bit of a delicacy in Undella."

Dorian:
Making a pleased purr at this new knowledge, Dorian suddenly frowned, tilting his head in thought. "Hmm, that is quite the list there, miss Gale, but I believe you have forgotten one." Smiling ruefully, he examined his claws, making sure they were well groomed and unchipped, which was ridiculous, since he clawed earlier that day. But felines can never be too careful.

Gale:
Gale blinked at this statement. The Sylveon soon got over her confusion and began to think. One could almost see the wheels in her head turning and her brow creased in a thoughtful manner.

"Hmm... What was it? Think, Gale. Think." She muttered to herself. "Frillish, Jellicent, Staryu, Starmie, and Corsola are all considered inedible. Wailmer are common but don't really have many culinary uses, if any at all. And the same could be said for Mantyke and Mantine." Gale gently rubbed her temple. "The only other creature left on the list are... Luvdisc, if I'm correct."

Dorian:
The man only snorted before laughing lightly. "I applaud you on your extensive knowledge of the marine life here and what is and is not edible. But you are still missing one, miss Gale." Offering a coy smile and turned his back the the sylveon and sighed. "It is a very rare fish, my dear. Elusive. But not many know of it's existence." Peeking over his shoulder he smiles coyly at her. "One more chance to get it right."

Gale:
Gale's brow furrowed again as she tried to think about it harder. The question and it's elusive answer began to drive the Sylveon crazy with the need to figure it out. Dorian's coy and teasing manner wasn't exactly helping either.

Finally, the fairy released a frustrated sigh.

"Why is this so hard?" Gale muttered to herself as she closed her eyes to focus a little better.

Dorian:
Turning around, the luxray folded his arms against the glass, watching Gale make a frustrated face, wracking her brains to figure out what she missed. He smiled in amusement, enjoying her little plight. "There is no shame in admitting you do not know. It is such a rare fish. Only one in the entire world, so far as I know." Grinning into the bowl, his tail flicked to and fro aimlessly as he watched the little dancer.

Gale:
Gale thought a little more after that statement. The ribbon mon thought as hard as she could, her frustration mixing with curiosity desperate to be satisfied. Finally, after a few minutes, she sighed in defeat and looked at the toy maker.

"Alright, Dorian. You win." Gale began with another sigh. "Which one am I missing?"

Dorian:
The man laughed good naturally. "It is quite all right, miss Gale. it is indeed a rare fish, though I actually failed to mention that most would not recognize it as one." Dorian casually rolled his shoulders, smiled, then, like lightning, leaped onto the rim of the bowl. He balanced on the rim with the balls of his feet, grinning widely, as he leaned in, snatched Gale's hand from the waters, and brought it to his lips for a kiss. "A rare, miss Gale fish. The only sylveon fish I know of." with a wink he slapped the water, splashing Gale's face, and hopped back off the bowl. A pleased smile on his face, much like any cat would when they caught a fish from the fish bowl.

Gale:
Gale gasped when Dorian leaped onto the bowl and kissed her hand. The Sylveon then proceeded to sputter in surprise when the mischievous lion splashed her in the face. Once she was over her shock, she threw the man a small glare. This glare, however, was wiped away and was replaced with a smile and a small laugh.

"Alright, Dorian." Gale began, still smiling even as she shook her head. "I can give credit when credit is due. That was actually very clever."

Dorian:
The luxray beamed, preening from his antics. "Thank you, thank you. I am honored to receive such praise." Placing a hand over his heart he bowed. "Though it is most fortunate you are not an actual fish in a bowl, miss Gale. This cat would have gobbled you up." Offering a wink, he looked toward the opening of the tent, taking notice there was no an overcast to shield his eyes.

Heaving a sigh, Dorian looked over to Gale and offered another bow. "I apologize for taking up your time, miss Gale. And as much as I would enjoy taking up more, I must take this moment to depart while the sun is hidden behind the clouds."

Gale:
Gale looked outside the tent and nodded.

"I understand." The Sylveon assured him as she placed her arms on the edge of the bowl, gently resting her head on them. "Be careful on your way back. You might like to hurry as well." She looked passed him towards the overcast again. "It looks like there might be a chance of rain." Gale smiled hopefully as she said this. "At least, I sure hope so."

Dorian:
Blowing her a kiss, Dorian laughed brightly. "As do I, miss Gale. I may be a feline, but I enjoy the rain." Offering her a parting wave, he exited the big top tent. Just before the man was completely out of sight, he called over his shoulder. "Enjoy the ocean, miss Gale. But be careful. Anyone would love to catch a lovely water nymph such as you."

Gale:
Gale couldn't suppress the shiver that crawled up her spine again. The way the Luxray said that last line... It made the fairy uneasy.

Fascinating yet terrifying... That was the best way to describe how Gale felt about the man. And the Sylveon had a feeling that is exactly what the doll maker wanted.

Why, Gale? Why are you so charmed by dark gentlemen even though you know better?! XD

Yep, that's right. Another Dorian and Gale RP. I can't help myself when it comes to the possibilities these two have in terms of possible interactions. :)

For anyone who doesn't get the title, Daphne was a Naiad (freshwater nymph) from Greek and Roman mythology. She and Apollo are major players in the myth of how laurel trees came about and their importance to the Greeks. I highly recommend reading it when you have the time.

Anyways, going back to my explanation, Dorian often compares Gale to characters from Greek myth. When they first met, he compared her to the Muses (goddesses of the arts and sciences). In this RP, he now compares her to and flat out calls her a nymph.

There are actually many different types of nymphs that you can read about. Gale could have just as easily been compared to Nereids (sea nymphs), Oceanids (land and water nymphs), and Limniads (lake nymphs) as well as Naiads. But then I thought, "What is the most well known myth involving a nymph being pursued/tempted by a man of great influence?" The story of Daphne and Apollo. Daphne was also a daughter of the river god Peneus, furthering the water connection between her and my water obsessed Sylveon. Plus, while Gale loves water in general, she's more commonly seen with her water bowl which is filled exclusively with freshwater.

I think of this situation as kind of the reverse of Apollo and Daphne's. Gale (the Daphne) is terrified of Dorian (the much darker and more sinister Apollo) but is also attracted to and draw to him though not necessarily in a romantic light. And while Dorian's act of seduction isn't necessarily one of a sexual nature, (At least... I think it isn't... O_o ) the Luxray is still using his charms and gentlemanly manner to tempt and seduce her nonetheless. Hence, the title I chose for this particular RP.

Sorry for the super long explanation but I like to keep the readers informed. And okay, I'll admit it, I also thought it was a great opportunity to show off my knowledge of Greek mythology. Hope you guys liked this one. :)

Gale belongs to me.

GOSH DORIAN CHARMIN THE LADIES LEFT N' RIGHT.

this was really fun to read .u.
